This post has been published by me as a part of the Blog-a-Ton 23; the twenty-third edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. To be part of the next edition, visit and start following Blog-a-Ton. The theme for this month is FREE.

Nice words. Enjoyed reading. I am reading Hindi poetry after more than a decade. So found it difficult to follow at some places. But got the overall drift of your thoughts and it was very nice. Do check out my Blo-a-ton post her In search of freedom

Yes Freedom is state of the mind...on one can be completely free...but according to law we have some fundamental rights to speak and protest against the bad things....

In case of anna hazare's protest against corruption...we saw how the voice of people is nothing to powerful people....they just want to govern us without listening and consider our own view point...

That's is all in this post/poem i am about to speak..

Nice poem.

I must confess I did not understand the line Ashish has highlighted:

Can you explain what the above line means? Please know that just like the Fool I am reading a Hindi poem after a while.

I think freedom is relative and open to interpretation-one man's ceiling is another man's floor.
Freedom then does not base itself on a nation's sovereignty but on an individual's perception of his own self.
Beautiful write-up-loved the choice of words and the meter of your poem !

Thanks for reading..
well this line is refer to those people who blame the costume of the female(victim) instead of the lustful intention of male(rapist) in case of rape...

they give stupid excuses that it not only boys fault... it is natural to stare the girls with lustfully eyes...and the sexual act with her as she and her cloth provokes him to do so...
so to stop all these cases girls should wear full costume....

they doesn't get the fact that boys with this mentality can attack any girl..even the girl with full clothes....

even after this brutal act boys escape easily and girl has to face whole society and burden of her own depression...she can't undo and forget it in her whole life...she live like a dead person from inside as well as outside...

so we have to free from that thinking and blaming on girls and their costume...we should give values to boys and teach them how to respect girls. take them as a person not a toy of hard-mass for them to play...

Thanks for being patient and explaining the line to me. I thought that's what you were trying to say. But while reading the line I was pausing after "nahi" instead of "galat", which inverts the meaning completely you see :).

aativas said...

Very thought provoking. According to me it is first Hindi blog I have come across on BAT (correct me if I am wrong!).

Hema Nimbekar said...

@Sunjoo Krishna

hey that what i meant by it..you should pause after "nahi" because that is the reality of current scenario/society...which should be not like that ideally...

you see in whole poem...i m questioning about all ill-aids of socially/politically/mentality states/scenes in India...

we always said we are free from the British Company....but Are we really free...there are certain area we are still slaves of sick mentality, ill-society, serious loopholes in politics and system...like corruption, women empowerment/gender equality, education system, etc..

so in this particular line i m pointing the issue that we are free but still we blame girls/woman(victim) costume instead of the mentality of boy/man(rapist).....we still see girl's/woman's character by her outfits...without knowing her personally...u see
